In August 2007, my grandfather Raul Javelona came to me and asked me to put into words a very precious personal memory for him.  He dictated a story of when he was a child and witnessed a stunning aerial battle between a Japanese Zero aircraft and an American P-38 during World War II.  Based on his true story, I ghostwrote this article in the first person, speaking on behalf of him, which was then published in the March 2008 edition of the P-38 National Association Newsletter.

A few months later, I wrote the conclusion in a second memoir.
